Shands Hospital for Children is the state’s premier pediatric health center where University of Florida pediatricians provide innovative and comprehensive care at the highest standards of quality and service for infants, children and adolescents.
Shands HealthCare staff work with UF pediatricians to provide the best care when children and are dedicated to the highest quality patient care, research and educational activities devoted to improving the health of Florida's children. These physicians, highly skilled Shands nurses and clinical and non-clinical staff offer our patients the latest treatments, advanced technologies and high-quality, compassionate healthcare.

Shands Hospital for Children is dedicated to producing complete clinical services to our patients. Shands at UF operates a Level I Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
ShandsCair, including three ambulances, one helicopter, one non-emergent van and a fixed wing jet, performed more than 500 emergency transports, by ground and air, last year alone. Pediatric patients at Shands Hospital for Children also have access to one of only four regional burn centers in the state of Florida.
